Before the present chapel existed, a smaller structure welcomed worshippers at this site. Between 1750 and 1760, a larger chapel was erected in honour of the Holy Trinity. The cemetery surrounding it dates back to the 17th–18th centuries; a walk among the graves reveals tombstones several hundreds of years old.
Nothing demonstrates the local community’s attachment to the charming chapel more clearly than the commemorative plaque installed on its wall in the summer of 2004 by the residents and landowners of Becsali, Egerszeghegy, and Gógánhegy.
