Huge statues welcome the visitors at the entrance to the County Hall (10 Kosztolányi utca): the woman in peasant clothes holding a sickle and an ear of wheat in her hand symbolises agriculture while the man clothed in typical Hungarian garments and sticking out his chest holds a traditional beehive in his hand symbolising economy. These, as well as the reliefs adorning the corner of the building, are the works of art of Béla Ohmann and József Reményi. The building was built in 1939 for the Financial Directorate to the designs of Jenő Halászy. In the 1950s it was the office of the County Council, since 2008, the office of the Zala County Assembly and since 2011 the Zala County Government Office has been operating in it.
