The Holy Trinity monument was created in 1810 (or, according to recent research, a year earlier) in the workshop of the renowned Keszthely stone mason József Zitterbarth. Its heavy components were transported by wagon through Zalabér to reach Zalaegerszeg. Funding was provided by the city guilds, the lion’s share.was provided by the bootmakers of Zalaegerszeg.
Throughout its history, the Holy Trinity statue has stood in several locations around the parish church. Removed from its original position in 1937, it was transferred to a garden between the church and the rectory, and later moved again in 1976 to the corner of the churchyard due to the construction of the main road 76. After meticulous restoration, it was placed in its current location in autumn 2006, on Mindszenty Square in front of the main entrance of the parish church.
The pedestal of this spiritually uplifting Holy Trinity composition is adorned with figures of Saint Stephen, Saint Emeric, the Apostles Peter and Paul, the Virgin Mary, and angels bearing cornucopias.
