After World War II it stood empty for years having lost its religious function and has served the public as a concert and exhibition hall since its renovation in 1983. It now hosts fine arts exhibitions, modern and classical music concerts of high standards and wedding ceremonies. In the synagogue building, visitors can see the virtual exhibition describing the history of the Jewish community in Zalaegerszeg, the religious objects owned by the Hungarian Jewish Museum and the Jewish Congregation of Zalaegerszeg. Additionally, there is a unique floor map illustrated by the photos of the major residential and public buildings.
