Two ornamental gardens are joined by the villas with front gardens, which were built between 1925 and 1935 for the better-off citizens, mostly the intelligentsia of the town. Between today’s Béke and Dózsa parks the 13 remaining villas evoke past times. Some have been rebuilt or enlarged in the course of time, but their residents strived to preserve the original façade during the transformations. Of the villas bordering the street on the west, two have been demolished when the Belvárosi Általános Iskola – Petőfi Székhelyiskola (Downtown Primary School, Petőfi Administrative School), was enlarged at the turn of the 1970s (the Hungarian façade ornaments of the original building of the civil school for boys reveal the year of construction as 1935). In the house at no. 35, Imre Izsák (1929–1965) astronomer was born and no. 37 was designed by Ede Toroczkai Wigand architect and industrial artist.
