When creating the village museum a somewhat far-fetched proposal was also made to lift the wooden buildings in their original form by helicopter, to their intended location and place them on prepared concrete foundations. Documenting this, on 17 January 1965, Népszava, a national daily paper, even published an article titled ‘Moving by helicopter. An outdoor museum on the bank of the backwater of the Zala.’ The relocation was finally not completed by air transport. They removed the mud from the buildings’ walls and disassembling the log walls shipped them to the area of the Göcseji Falumúzeum. Here, they were all reassembled using photos and drawings prepared during the dismantling process.
